Philosophy
Our employment and pensions practice supports employers, HR leaders and pension scheme trustees on the full life-cycle of the employment relationship and retirement benefits — from policy design and contracts, through restructurings and disputes, to scheme registration, governance and URBRA compliance. We work in close collaboration with our NGO and non-profit practice and routinely handle expatriate work permit and immigration matters for international organisations operating in Uganda.

Represented Great Lakes Coffee in a labour dispute involving 11 formal employees represented by Platform for Labour Action, resulting in a successful settlement for our client.
Advised War Child Canada, JSI Research & Training Institute and Plan International on disciplinary proceedings and the negotiation and settlement of terminations.
Under the Trust Law partnership with Thomson Reuters, advised and prepared a human resources manual for Wana Energy Solutions, a natural gas manufacturing and distribution social business.
Drafted and reviewed HR manuals and employment agreements for Plan International, Wildlife Conservation Society, Great Lakes Coffee, War Child Canada, Peripheral Vision International, YSBF, Grameen Foundation Uganda, JSI Research & Training Institute, Jhpiego (an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University), UZURI Health & Beauty Limited, Goldmine Finance Limited, Orion Transformers & Electrics Ltd and Trocaire Uganda.
